EMBROIDERY, APPLIQUE, AND CUT & SEW
EMBROIDERY
Embroidery is a great alternative to print on a garment. You can combine up to 9 colors of thread to make a design or logo. Works good for smaller runs.
APPLIQUE
Applique is when you sew fabric or pieces of fabric onto a garment to give your design more dimension and style. You can do almost any kind of fabric. The most common application of applique is a custom shaped fabric sewn on a garment.
CUT AND SEW
Cut and sew is used to denote a garment that has been customized from raw fabric rather than one that has been purchased from a third-party supplier and then screen printed or altered. The options for this are too numerous to list here.
EFFECTS AND ADD-ONS
HD EMBROIDERY
HD, meaning high density, is when a foam or a double stitch is used to create an embroidery that is raised off the shirt or hat. It is a very cool effect.
GLOW THREADS
It’s just what it sounds like, thread that glows in the dark after being charged in the light. This makes for a cool effect on a design.
METALLIC THREADS
Metallic threads are a shimmering metallic thread that comes to life when light hits it. It is mostly used for accents in a design.
PRINT AND EMBROIDERY
This is exactly what it sounds like. A design gets printed on the garment first and then the embroidery after that. When designed properly, this is a great look.
DUAL LAYER APPLIQUE
A dual layer applique is where two or more layers of fabric are sewn on a garment. These can be layered in different ways making for a cool design with depth.
